Every therapist at Toronto Bodyworks is individually chosen for their exceptional good hands and pride of service. When you come to Toronto Bodyworks for therapy you choose quality because we care about our work and about you.

Massage Therapists are Regulated Health Care Professionals governed by the province of Ontario and Acupuncturists / Chinese Medical practitioners are in the process of regulation by the same government. You can rest assured we have excellence in our training and experience. All of our RMT’s are members in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario and our Acupuncturists will follow suit when their College is complete.

The clinic has two treatment rooms creating a comfortable environment where you are a client and not a number. Our days are structured in shifts which reduces the likelihood of burnout for our therapists. This means your treatment is focused and your therapist is present. As for convenience we are open seven days a week offering you more flexibility when booking your appointments.

Looking forward to the opportunity to meet and work with you, we give you our best.

Toronto Bodyworks is RMT founded, owned and operated since 2004. Therapist supportive and client appreciative.

In 1992 Sue travelled to Canada’s west coast to apprentice with WWOOF – Willing Workers on Organic Farms. Passionate as she was about organic farming Sue knew it was not quite the right choice for her life at that time. In 1995 Sue moved to Toronto to study shiatsu at the Shiatsu School of Canada and graduated with the class of 1997 and went in to private practice. Her long-term desire to work in Traditional Chinese Medicine resulted in the completion of studies to receive a diploma in acupuncture from the SSC Institute in 1999, and diploma in herbology from the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 2006. In between those two pursuits to expand the scope of her practice Sue returned to school to study massage at Sutherland-Chan Massage Therapy School and received her diploma and registration in 2001. Since then Sue has taken several continuing education courses including hot stone massage, NISA (deep tissue realignment), dynamic posture, thai massage, aromatherapy, cosmetic acupuncture and craniosacral therapy.

To-date Sue’s extensive well-rounded background in bodywork includes certification in eight modalities, including western massage, shiatsu and acupuncture. Sue is also a member in good standing with the Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario (RMTAO), the Ontario Association of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (OAATCM) and the Canadian Society of Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture (CSCMA).

As one of the longest practicing cosmetic acupuncturists in Toronto, Sue has made appearances on Breakfast Television (2005, 2006); for Slice TV on the series Plastic Makes Perfect (2007) and has been asked to speak on her expertise at events. Her cosmetic acupuncture work has been featured in Vitality Magazine (September 2004) and Beyond Fitness Magazine.

Sue’s unique approach and skill set gives her the ability to integrate modalities to achieve the desired effect. Most importantly, she strives to do whatever works to keep you living healthy and optimally.

Born and raised in Toronto Sarah has always been drawn to health care. In her final year of high school Sarah completed an internship at the Hospital for Sick Kids on the Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis Ward where she took children’s vitals and helped out with administrative work (2004). Attracted to a continuation of working one on one with clients Sarah researched and enrolled in the massage therapy program at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy. She graduated with honours in 2006. Sarah is a member in good standing order with the Registered Massage Therapist Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

Currently Sarah is continuing her education by working towards her BA part-time and is interested in learning more in the massage profession with fascial work, joint play and reflexology. She has already completed courses in TMJ Dysfunction (2009) and Rib Dysfunction (May 2010).

Torontonian Ada Wan grew up loving sports. After highschool she decided to study Kinesiology at York University and graduated with an honors degree in 2008. Not feeling fulfilled and looking for a career that was not only itself physical but also related to athletic performance, Ada embarked on her studies as a Massage Therapist at Sutherland-Chan. Because of her previous education and accomplishments in Kinesiology Ada was able to complete her program in one year (2009). In her Massage Therapy studies Ada felt most focused on sports, pregnancy and myofacial release (deep tissue work).

Ada’s post graduate continuing education interests include advanced myofacial techniques and has completed the rib dysfunction course through the RMTAO (May 2010). Ada is a member in good standing with the Registered Massage Therapy Association of Ontario (RMTAO).

Before graduating Sutherland Chan as a Registered Massage Therapist, Brit graduated with a BA in English from the University of Guelph, which led her to teach English both in Japan and Vancouver. While in Vancouver, she tried her hand at chocolatiering, however once she decided that massage therapy was the path for her, she hasn’t looked back.

Having graduated from Sutherland Chan in the spring of 2010, she is excited about working in a field that combines her love of connecting with people with the ability to promote good health, both in herself and others and finds that massage therapy is a wonderful combination of holistic and preventative healthcare as well as practical, science-based knowledge and understanding.

A member of the RMTAO as well as a member in good standing with the CMTO, she is enthusiastic about furthering her knowledge and skills to better help her clients. Interested in Active Release Therapy, TMJ dysfunction as well as the importance of proper breathing patterns, she hopes to gain further experience and education in those fields and is looking forward to continuing her education during 2011 and throughout her career.

Alex’s love of sports and fitness eventually lead her to Ottawa where she spent three years as a personal trainer helping others achieve their fitness goals. Enjoying one-on-one work with clients Alex loved seeing firsthand results. This inspired her to take a more serious study of the body and techniques to facilitate health and wellness. Alex enrolled at Everest College’s Massage Therapy program, from which she graduated in November 2010.

Alex plans to pursue post graduate training in craniosacral therapy, NISA, and shiatsu. Alex is a member in good standing with the RMTAO and CMTO.

Raised on a small farm just outside of Toronto, Sarah has always had an interest in being active. Sarah’s active lifestyle (which includes soccer, horse-back riding, and running) and interest in health and wellness led her to pursue a post-secondary education in health care and natural healing. Following a desire to work hands-on with people, Sarah completed the three year Massage Therapy program at Georgian College.

After receiving her diploma Sarah moved to Toronto in order to experience city life and to gain valuable work experience. She hopes to expand and develop new skills in the health and wellness field, with a special interest in learning equine massage.
